” NPP/ NDC Should Stop Harassing Themselves” — From CHIEF OF DEFENSE STAFF .

The former Chief of Defense Staff of Ghana Armed force Brigadier General rtd- Joseph Nunoo Mensah on 13/10/2020, has cautioned the two major political parties in Ghana thus New patriotic party (NPP) And National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop harassing themselves and make Ghana their priority.

“It’s dangerous to say anything about your political opponent without fact or any evidence but it seems like this two main parties have turned Ghana into football match, fighting for power without thinking about the future of the nation by which they invest huge sums of money on billboards only to win power” he said.

Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah when asked about his concern on issue of insecurity in the country following the recent gun down in various parts of the country which has resulted the death of member of parliament for Mfantseman constituency Hon. Ekow Quansah Hayford, he emphatically lamented that, job creation for the youth will be the best measure to combat the state of insecurity matters arising.

“Ghanaians are hunger for jobs especially the youth, so government should create reliable jobs for them to help ease high standards of living. Though it may not be a lasting solution to control the high level of crime in the country but would reduced to its minimal rate. Brigadier General rtd- Nunoo Mensah affirmed however that crimes in different levels cannot be taking out from every system since it exist from the days of Adam.

Former Chief of Defense Staff added that, the country’s security agencies are now been influence by these same two major political parties. “There was nothing like ‘Protocol’ during our time when seeking a chance in the Ghana Armed Force and other security agencies, I walked to Burma camp myself and applied for military and I passed. But now the gate way to the security agencies lies on our politicians protocol, this he said accelerate the level of crime in the country” he disclosed.

Brigadier General rtd- Nunoo Mensah also commented that assigning security personnel to members of parliament as personal protectors will not quanch the issue of security and therefore government must find proper way and means in dealing with such issues, sighting some presidents who were shot dead in the midst of their heavy security
