As election approaches, it’s therefore imperative for the undecided to decide who to vote for. The “Battle” in no doubt lies between the ruling NPP and the opposition NDC. Haven considered this, one can clearly see who the winner will of course be.
This year’s election for the aforementioned parties will no longer be based on promises as the Candidates for the both NPP and NDC, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and H.E John Dramani Mahama (former) respectively have had the chance to taste power as president for at least a term. The effectiveness or otherwise can correctly be spelt out through their achievements and performance within the one term period.
Putting both NPP Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and NDC’s John Dramani Mahama on a balance based on their performance puts me in a position to change their respective names and relating them to the battle between David and Goliath. David was short in stature compared to the giant Goliath. David proved that indeed winning a battle is not a physical thing but a “mental” activity whilst Goliath on the other hand considered his physique and the hails from the masses. Nana Addo in this instance of election takes up a new name “David” changing His name to David Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo whilst John Dramani Mahama takes up “Goliath” changing His name to Goliath John Dramani Mahama. Just as Goliath thought he was fully armed to kill David who was operating on wisdom, Nana Addo is also operating on same wisdom David used to defeat Goliath to defeat JDM in the coming election.
As a concern citizen who is also not a spectator, my only question since David Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo assumed office as President has been …”looking at the amount free SHS and Trainee’s allowance (which I have been a beneficiary for three good years) is sweeping and the developmental projects this government is putting in place to better living and make life worthwhile, what was Goliath John Dramani Mahama doing when all these monies were sitting idle?
Quoting from the Bible,1 Samuel 17:21,23-27
For Israel(NPP) and the Philistines(NDC) had drawn up in battle(election) array, army(records) against army(records)
Then as he talked with them, there was the champion, the Philistine(NDC) of Gath, Goliath(JDM) by name, coming up from the armies of the Philistines(NDC’S); and he spoke according to the same words. So David(Nana Addo) heard them.
So the men of Israel(NPP) said, “Have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel; and it shall be that the man who kills him the king will enrich with great riches, will give him his daughter, and give his father’s house exemption from taxes in Israel(NPP).”
Then David(Nana Addo) spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine(NDC) and takes away the reproach from Israel(NPP)? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine(NDC), that he should defy the armies of the living God(Ghana)?”
And the people answered him in this manner, saying, “So shall it be done for the man who kills him.”
Even when the Israelites had lost hope, David won. What would have happened if He had same hailing from the Israelites? The Philistines however were optimistic but lost because they didn’t present a good candidate. The Philistines (NDC) should be ready for a second defeat because their physically built Goliath (JDM) is not worth fighting the Israelites'(NPP) candidate who is strong physically and mentally David (Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo). The results of the 2020 election is worth declaring before the election. This is not also to day that the NPP and Nana Addo lead government has done what has not happened before and so I say there is more room for improvement. Saying a word to the NDC, I say NDC ……Damirifa due!
